Social Care

We can support carers to access carers assessments and care needs assessments.  We can make referrals into social care teams to help you to access support in your caring role, find care at home, residential care and respite breaks.

We can help you to make sense of the "system", providing  information on how things work, what to expect and understanding terminology and processes.

This can include things like deprivation of assets, financial assessments, deprivation of liberty safeguards, continuing healthcare and direct payments to name a few.

We can assist with communication between carers and social services, providing an independent and impartial information and advice service to carers that helps them to know their rights, access support, challenge decisions and maintain relationships with statutory services in Northumberland.
