Carers Northumberland provides a range of support to carers, regardless of the circumstances in which they care, and we are able to work alongside any professional who encounters carers as part of their role.
It is vital that we all work together to help identify and offer opportunities for support to the unpaid carers that we may meet in the course of our professional roles. By doing this we are helping not just the carers themselves but the patients or clients that they are looking after and ultimately, ensuring that the high quality of care can be sustained for as long as possible.
We are able to offer Carer Awareness Training to professionals and our Information and Advice team are happy to discuss individual carer enquiries with you. If you would like to find out more about how we can work together please call us on 01670 320025 or email info@carersnorthumberland.org.uk

The Carer Awareness training session for professionals offers an insight into the caring role from the perspective of the carer. It looks at the physical and mental impact caring can have on the health and well-being of the unpaid carer and reveals what it is that carers say they really want – what makes a difference to them and their ability to carry on caring.
The session also looks at the range of support provision Carers Northumberland can offer and how professionals can refer carers into the service. It lasts for about an hour and is suitable for anyone who may come across unpaid carers because of the job that they do.
